Mackrille School hosted its Multicultural Night last evening, celebrating cultures from around the world. Each class created a craft from a different country, and families shared items representing their cultures. The night also featured performances from Ghana and Brazil, along with delicious dirty sodas and donuts from Westies Nutrition. 🌍✨

The show featured beloved fairytale stories and was enjoyed by all. The Theatre Workshop students did an outstanding job creating a fun and exciting experience for the visiting students. 🎭✨

Last night, West Haven Public Schools held its annual Unsung Hero Award Dinner, bringing the community together to recognize individuals who make a difference each day. From teachers to front office staff to security guards and many more roles, our district is supported by people who care deeply about their work and the students they serve.
Those honored have gone above and beyond in their roles. Their efforts often take place behind the scenes, but they play an important part in keeping our schools running smoothly. While it is always a team effort, this night was set aside to recognize their contributions.
Thank you for the work you put in every day. It was an honor to celebrate you all. 👏🎉

Mackrille students in grades K-4 took part in the annual courtyard garden replanting with Assistant Superintendent and former Mackrille principal Judy Drenzek. Students learned about the value of gardening and sustainability while getting hands-on experience planting seeds for pumpkins, beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, sunflowers, basil, and more. The garden will continue to grow over the summer, helping bring farm-to-table learning opportunities for students in the upcoming school year 🌱🌎🌿
