Please continue to help your child write their first and last name with correct capitalization.  Be sure they are writing their first and last name on all homework papers.

We have finished up Unit 1 and are into Unit 2.  Calendars and flashcards have come home.  If you need another copy please let us know.  Our second unit includes letters: Cc, Kk, Gg, Ff, Ii.  We will be working on the following words:  what, like, he, to, said, no, she, are, in, they.  Practice these words every day.

Some other important skills to practice include identifying the first sound in words.  For example; What is the first sound in the word fish?  Your child should be able to identify the F sound.  You can use any word.

We are beginning to identify rhyming words.  Please practice identifying rhyming words and producing rhyming words.

We are beginning our next Math unit.  Your child will be identifying, writing and counting numbers 11-20.  They will also be describing numbers as greater than, less than, or equal to another.  Please continue to practice    0-10 if your child has not mastered those numbers.

In writing, students will be drawing pictures and labeling what they drew as best as they can.  Encourage your children to sound out new words and spell them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.  If you are looking for new ways to help your child please contact us and we would be happy to give you some suggestions.  Your help and support at home is important.
